Originally conceived as a stopping place for international travelers, a symbol of luxury and hotel excellence, in 2020 it was transformed and put at the service of the emergency, embodying Milan's spirit of resilience and solidarity. By converting into a 'Covid Hotel', it has offered a safe haven for patients, thus relieving the burden on local hospitals and providing essential support in the fight against the virus.
The transformation required significant internal reorganization, with the creation of dedicated zones for patients in isolation, while ensuring the safety of healthcare personnel. This initiative highlighted the importance of hotel facilities' flexibility and ability to react quickly in times of emergency. In addition, it has strengthened the link between the hotel and the City of Milan, demonstrating a common commitment to caring for the community and caring for its citizens.
