The process of controlled deconstruction and recovery of the materials of the Former Hotel Michelangelo marks a fundamental stage in the architectural history of the city of Milan.

The company Despe introduced for the first time, in the deconstruction process, the TopDownWay technology. The work was carried out and completed, minimizing inconvenience, such as noise and dust, and ensuring extremely fast operation. During the deconstruction, valuable materials were safeguarded and catalogued that will be reused in the future skyscraper, thus reducing the environmental impact and conceptually preserving the legacy of the former hotel.
